The City of Wheat Ridge is building a soft-surface pedestrian trail around the east and northern shores of Tabor Lake. The project includes a shade pavilion, bird blind, and other seating, and connects the Clear Creek Trail to Van Gordon St. This portion will be accessible for all users and open to both pedestrian and equestrian users.
This project originally started as an idea from the Wheat Ridge Parks and Recreation Commission. The city is investing American Rescue Plan funds into this project and has received $410,000 in grant funds from the Jefferson County Open Space Trails Partnership Program and $451,279 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund support for the project.
