Urban Flooding

RESPEC Engineering will be working with the City of Wheat Ridge to develop a comprehensive Stormwater Master Plan (SWMP). The SWMP will identify and address the existing and future flood and drainage issues within the City of Wheat Ridge. The purpose of the SWMP is to identify known problematic flood areas and storm drainage system issues and to prioritize and recommend future projects and programs. RESPEC will identify alternatives to improve the storm drainage system, potential capital improvement projects, and other options that can provide stormwater solutions like Green Infrastructure or Nature-based Solutions.

Engaging With the Wheat Ridge Community

RESPEC and the City Staff kicked off the SWMP in May 2024 and worked to receive input from the community from June 2024 through August 2024. This was done through using our interactive map to identify areas of concern for stormwater in the community. We understand the importance of safety and wanted to be sure we captured the areas where the community needs improvement.

We are no longer taking survey responses and thank the Wheat Ridge community for their participation!
