The Green at 38th
The City of Wheat Ridge began public engagement in 2018 on a project to transform the area between Stevens Elementary and 38th Ave into a future public gathering space. During the fall 2021 engagement phase, 177 respondents completed the project survey, ~30 attended the public meeting, and ~1,100 users visited the online project page. You can see the results from this engagement in the ""November 2021 Updates" section.
As of winter 2022-2023, the project has entered final design. The project hopes to release a request for proposal and contract with a construction company in 2023 to be fully prepared to begin construction after the 2023-2024 school year ends.

Interactive fountain
Fountain should have the right systems installed. Arvada's old Town fountain runs off New water that goes straight to drainage system rather than recirculating bc the correct infrastructure wasn't installed originally

Do more!
Add a community fire pit and outdoor games (chess, ping pong…even horseshoes) to Concept B. Get creative with art (sculptures/murals) to make the area a real focal point. Utilize the green often. And hopefully it becomes a catalyst for more businesses to move to the corridor and give us a real, walkable, downtown area (think Olde Town Arvada) along 38th from Pierce to Wadsworth. Increased Access
Could additional access points with increased safety measures be coordinated with pubic works to ensure pedestrian safety in the immediate area? Specifically, could a crosswalk be added across 38th at Teller and intersection treatments, such as pedestrian bulb outs and raised crosswalks, be added at the intersections of Upham, High, and Teller? Perhaps bulb outs would be best for 38th street and raised crosswalks could be put in across Upham and High.
