The City of Wheat Ridge began public engagement in 2018 on a project to transform the area between Stevens Elementary and 38th Ave into a future public gathering space. During the fall 2021 engagement phase, 177 respondents completed the project survey, ~30 attended the public meeting, and ~1,100 users visited the online project page. You can see the results from this engagement in the ""November 2021 Updates" section.

As of winter 2022-2023, the project has entered final design. The project hopes to release a request for proposal and contract with a construction company in 2023 to be fully prepared to begin construction after the 2023-2024 school year ends.

If you'd like to learn more, read further on this page and watch the 12-minute Projects Concepts Options Video to view possible elements that could be included in the new space.
