The current playground at Fruitdale Park

In 2026, the Parks and Recreation department will be replacing playgrounds at Fruitdale Park and Prospect Park. Concept options, within budget, have been collected from three playground vendors and we are looking for community feedback on which playground option to move forward with. Please see the options below and consider completing the short survey and or leaving additional comments. Thank you!

  • This survey shows the 3 concept options under consideration for a new playground at Fruitdale Park. In all 3 options, the current play structures would be removed, the surfacing would be engineered wood fiber filled closer to the brim of the play pit, and only the northern half of the current play pit would be used. The southern half of the play pit is being considered for a future sand volleyball court. All 3 concept options are ADA compliant and are from vendors who have installed other successful playgrounds in Wheat Ridge.

  • This survey shows the 3 concept options under consideration for a eastern new playground at Prospect Park between the picnic pavilion and the basketball court. In all 3 options, the current play structures would be removed, the surfacing would be poured-in-place, and the playgrounds are designed for universal accessibility for users of all abilities. All 3 concept options are ADA compliant and are from vendors who have installed other successful playgrounds in Wheat Ridge.
