38th Avenue at Wadsworth Boulevard on track to open Feb. 24
Weather-permitting, full access at the 38th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard intersection will be restored by the time most travelers are awake on Monday, Feb. 24. All concrete work associated with the closure is now complete. Crews will work overnight on Sunday to reopen all turn movements at the intersection.
The two southbound Wadsworth Boulevard travel lanes are currently split around a work zone from south of 44th Avenue to 35th Avenue. Southbound drivers must pick a lane when approaching the traffic split south of 44th Avenue. The traffic split will remain in place for several weeks so the contractor can finish paving the last lane in the center of the road.
From Feb. 24 to March 3, 35th Avenue west of Wadsworth Boulevard will be closed for final concrete paving. 35th Avenue will be closed only in the immediate area of southbound Wadsworth. 35th Avenue east of Wadsworth is not impacted by this work.
A signed detour route for 35th Avenue local residential traffic only will be provided using 38th Avenue and Allison Street. Wadsworth businesses are open! While 35th Avenue is closed, other access points to businesses and the Edison at Wheat Ridge apartment complex will remain open at adjacent driveways and the signalized intersection at 38th Avenue and Yukon Court.
Since construction activities are highly dependent on weather conditions this time of year, this schedule is subject to change. Any schedule changes will be posted on message boards approaching the work area.
