For the week of Feb. 16, 2025
UPDATE: Southbound Wadsworth Boulevard right turn to westbound 38th Avenue set to reopen on Feb. 17 with additional traffic movements opening by Feb. 24
Low temperatures and snow have impacted the schedule for the Wadsworth Boulevard/38th Avenue intersection work. Most of the planned work is complete. However, more time is needed to complete paving in the center of the intersection.
Crews plan to place the remaining concrete on Feb. 14 and 17. The southbound Wadsworth Boulevard right turn to eastbound 38th Avenue will reopen on Monday. Feb 17. All other traffic movements should reopen by Feb. 24.
The two southbound Wadsworth Boulevard travel lanes are currently split around a work zone from south of 44th Avenue to 35th Avenue. Southbound drivers must pick a lane when approaching the traffic split south of 44th Avenue.
The vehicle detour routes for 38th Avenue through traffic are either 32nd Avenue or 44th Avenue to Kipling Street. 38th Avenue business access and all side streets will remain open from the west side of the closure at Yukon Court. Pedestrian access will be provided. RTD has posted service alerts for bus route 38 during the closure.
38th Avenue east of Wadsworth Boulevard is open during the partial intersection closure. All westbound 38th Avenue traffic approaching the intersection must turn north (right) or south (left) at the Wadsworth traffic signal.
All work is weather-dependent. Any schedule changes will be posted on message boards approaching the work area. Read more on the 38th closure in the following entries.
