As a city, we are taking an important step forward in advancing accessibility by developing a comprehensive Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan. The final plan will document existing conditions, identify barriers to accessibility, prioritize needed improvements, and establish a coordinated path forward. As part of the planning process, the project team will evaluate accessibility at city facilities, parks, and within public rights-of-way. This effort brings together all accessibility plans completed over the past decade into a single, unified strategy. By consolidating this work, the City is creating a stronger, more coordinated roadmap that not only addresses existing barriers but also positions Wheat Ridge for a more inclusive and accessible future.
How to Participate
During the planning process, we want to hear from you! Seniors, people with disabilities, families, business owners, and anyone who cares about accessibility in the community will have opportunities to share their experiences, priorities, and concerns.
We have completed the community input portion of the plan. Thank you so much to everyone who shared your experiences with us! Check back for more info as the plan takes shape.
