Key Dates

The first public meeting will be an in-person event and is scheduled for Wed., Feb. 23, 2022 from 4:30-6:30pm at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center, 4005 Kipling St., which will be an open-house style community event. This event will be geared towards understanding of the existing project area, existing conditions analysis and general vision/goals. The open house activities will be self-paced, so participants are welcome to stop by any time between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.  Neighbors can attend the open house for the W. 44th Subarea Plan and then walk down the hall to the open house for the Let’s Talk Resident Engagement Program.  Residents along W. West 44th have the unique opportunity to dive into current neighborhood issues through Let’s Talk Anderson Park and Fruitdale as well as focus on the long-term vision of West 44th Avenue through the subarea planning process.

Can’t make the event but still interested in sharing your vision?  A parallel online activity will be posted to the project page following the event.

The second open house* for the 44^th Avenue Subarea Plan will take place on Wednesday, July 6 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center (4005 Kipling St). This is your chance to help determine the future of 44^th Avenue. Public input received at this meeting will inform the final plan. 

Where should residential or commercial uses go? How can we improve aesthetics and safety of 44^th Avenue? Which walking and biking connections are most important? The project is currently in the second phase where project staff have synthesized and used phase one input to form concepts, considerations, and recommendations for the community to explore at the open house event.
