May 2026 Project Update and Ribbon Cutting Event Announcement

Construction on the trail portion of the Tabor Lake Trail project is now complete, and pedestrians and equestrians can use the soft-surface trail that connects the Clear Creek Trail to Van Gordon St. along the east and north shores of the lake. Cyclist users should walk their bikes on this segment as it has narrow curves around the lake.
Minor construction work is still underway on project items that don't directly impact trail users. Once the project is fully complete, which is anticipated to be in June, the public will be invited to a ribbon-cutting event. This project was primarily funded by the Land and Water Conservation Fund (through Colorado Parks and Wildlife) and the Jefferson County Parks & Open Space sales tax proceeds.
The community is invited to a ribbon-cutting event on Thursday, June 4th at 9:30am at the southeast corner of Tabor Lake. Please park at Prospect Park (W 44th Ave and Robb St) and follow the signs to the trail; we’ll guide you there! Enjoy light refreshments, friendly faces, and a few words from our Mayor Pro Tem and community partners as we celebrate this exciting new addition together
