On the 8/24/2026 City Council meeting, contracts were awarded to the Farnsworth Group to serve as the lead project design firm and Wember Inc. to serve as the owner's representative firm for the project. Work on the design phase kicked off shortly thereafter and is expected to take at least 10 months. There will be additional public engagement opportunities in the Fall 2026-Winter 2027 timeframe for feedback on the concept options, and later preliminary design options.

The project team (Parks and Recreation staff, the Farnsworth Group, and Wember Inc) kicked off the design phase of the project. The design phase is anticipated to take about 10 months and will include two public engagement rounds.
