Anderson Pool forever!

I grew up in Arvada but loved going to Anderson pool as a kid. Now my husband and I live in Wheat Ridge and we bike to Anderson pool for fun throughout the summer. It has changed for the better over the years, and is still a true neighborhood hangout for kids and families. I have so many fond memories there with my parents, cousins, and friends. I can't imagine summer without it, and I'm almost 40. :D I would love to learn more about how I can support this project. (I can write grants!)

Twelve Little Duckies

Twelve little duckies lined up. Bustling down to a local bus line, Trekking a distance that seems too far for me as an adult. We meticulously rolled our towels, and camp instructors (just teenagers themselves) would slather us until we glowed titanium white. Sometimes we still burned despite hats, and sunshirts, and our dorky little sunglasses. Pool water lapped up at the filter when we arrived. We dipped our toes before we had permission to get in. The slide, which was monumental to me then, stood in as a towering monolith yet to be conquered. No running, the lifeguards whistled…

Pillar of the Community (Handwritten Story)

(this story was handwritten at the Performance in the Park event on 7/16/25 and provided to staff. It's been typed up and submitted by parks and recreation staff):Anderson Pool is a pillar of the Wheat Ridge community. Many outdoor pools are closing in the Denver area so it makes it all the more important to allow kids and families to establish crucial developmental skills of swimming, water safety, and an inexpensive location to gather as our community enjoys time together.
