About What's Up
We know you have thoughts, ideas and questions about what's up in Wheat Ridge, and we want to hear from you. This site is a place where you can gather information, contribute your ideas and feedback and get involved on a variety of topics.
We recognize attending a public meeting, open house or event isn't always possible. That's why we have made this website - to make it easier for you to contribute to our community involvement programs. If you prefer to get involved using more traditional methods such as attending City Council and other public meetings, you can do that too.
To participate, simply REGISTER to join the conversation, then go to the projects that interest you and start getting involved from the comfort of wherever you are and a time convenient for you.
We hope you enjoy getting involved with us through this site and learning about what's up in Wheat Ridge!
More information
What's Up Wheat Ridge is just one tool in the City's Community Involvement strategy. The strategy includes three levels of participation:
Level I: Inform and Educate
Promise: We will provide the community with balanced, accurate and objective information. We will answer questions and keep the community informed.
We will use What's Up Wheat Ridge to inform, educate and celebrate when change is occurring as a result of a plan or strategy that has been adopted, to correct misconceptions or in the case of normal day-to-day business assigned to staff.
Level II: Consult
Promise: The community’s comments and feedback will be considered in the decision making process.
We will use What's Up Wheat Ridge to consult when input or feedback from the community would be helpful in determining alternatives, when the organization is considering a change in services or there is a need to understand community desires.
Level III: Involve
Promise: We will work directly with the community throughout a process to ensure that the public’s concerns, aspirations and desires are understood and considered. Feedback contributes broadly to the outcome.
We will use What's Up Wheat Ridge to involve when the issue affects or has the potential to affect a significant number of residents, has a lasting impact on property, community ownership is necessary, during the development of strategic or comprehensive plans, the initiative creates or significantly changes public amenities, the issue has the potential to significantly alter service levels.
